1. With your partner come up with a list of at least 5 examples of historical documents.
2. Add them to the class list.
3. Place a star next to the one you feel is the "most important" of all the historical documents listed.
4. On the sheet provided state why you picked the document you did.

Use your computer to find a definition of "historical document" and write it in the space provided. Share your definitions and record the class definition in the space provided.

Use your computer to find a list of types of historical documents and record them on your sheet.
Look over the list and answer these questions with your partner.

Are there any documents on the list that you don't think would be historical documents? Why?
Are there any documents that on the list that you feel are more important? Why?
What do you think makes something a historical document?
Do you believe that everything in history is a historical document? Why?
Do you think that once something is a historical document that it will remain a historical document? Why?
